OLT 554 – Principles of Adult Learning
Teaching Philosophy
The final project for Principles of Adult Learning was to compose a Teaching Philosophy. The course prepared me to create a 10-page paper detailing my biography, career goal as an educator, my views on various topics related to teaching and learning, and how I will continue to grow as an educator.
This project helped me reflect on the theories and topics presented through the course and present which ones resonated most with me. This process helped me have a better understanding of myself as a learner and educator.
OLT 560 – Workplace Learning, Development, and Performance
Individual Learning Models in Human Resource Development
The final project for Workplace Learning, Development, and Performance was to research one of the concepts presented through the course that resonated the most with me. I chose Individual Learning Models in Human Resource Development because the individual is important to the organizational system performance. Understanding the various individual learning styles will benefit both the individual and the organization.
Course Reflection
One of the final assignments for this course was to write a reflection paper describing what I learned from the course and how it can be applied to my professional career.
OLT 578 – Instructional Design and Development
Instructional Design Document
ITSC 1401 Introduction to Computers
The final project for this course was to identify either a new course you want to design or identify instruction that has been problematic to develop a solution. I chose to examine a dual credit college course that had a poor pass-rate the previous semester. The goal of the project was to analyze the course as it is designed and discover why the students were not successful. The eJournal linked below shows the process as it unfolded each week to produce this final Instructional Design Document to implement a course redesign for ITSC 1401 Introduction to Computers.
Instructional Design eJournal
An assignment in Instructional Design and Development was to keep an Instructional Design eJournal. Each week I was presented with a prompt to document my thought process through the design project.

I Used to Think…Now I Think
I used to think instructional design and development was simply looking at what the instructor has provided for the course and taking that information and laying it out in a logical order that students can follow and understand. Looking at my previous experience in the field, I can understand why this was my perception. That…

Identifying Instructional Strategies
OLT 578 Journal Entry 5 This course design is based on constructivism learning theory, “learning is how people make sense of their experience—learning is the construction of meaning from experience” (Merriam, 2013-10-14, p. 36) and humanistic learning theory—learning is student-centered and “the teacher is a facilitator of self-directed learning rather than a dispenser of knowledge”…
